The Rights and Plight of Women and Children

OVERVIEW:
The theme for this year’s conference is: “The Rights and Plight of Women and Children”. The theme is broadly framed to give speakers the liberty to focus on particular area(s) of interest and specialization and to provide a regional perspective. Speaker will take into account the general framework of the two basic documents dealing with the rights of women and children, namely, the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women and the Convention on the Rights of the Child, respectively.
Presenters will outline the state of human rights as they apply to women and children and what factors foster or undermine the enjoyment or non-enjoyment of human rights in their particular region of the world.
